    Description

    A rare chance to get a set of 8 or 6 bone china cups and saucers by Aynsley in the elegant  Leighton pattern : a deep cobalt blue rim with an articulate 24kt gold gilding. These have a scalloped edge which makes them even more special and elegant.
    Cobalt reflects as Black in some photos but it is definitely cobalt in life. Please see all photos.
    The felt pad spacers in-between some plates show that these were originally sold through Shreve and Company, a luxury retailer in San Francisco that currently specializes in high-end jewelry but in the past used to include luxury houseware.
    Aynsley
    was one of the first potteries in England to specialize in Bone China creating a very strong china that is thinner and lighter than others. Queen Victoria recognized their quality by granting a royal warrant which is why they have a royal crown in their logo. In England everyone knows Aynsley is synonymous with high-end quality bone china.
    Really an exceptional set. Also have other plates  in this pattern.
